Bexar Fest is an annual San Antonio event that pairs hundreds of talented high school students and local non-profit organizations to create the media tools a non-profit needs. These high school teams across eight San Antonio counties work with their chosen nonprofits to create original videos, photos, graphics, and music about their services. This event holds a special place in my heart because when I was a senior in high school, I competed in Bexar Fest 6 and it was an incredibly meaningful experience. When I was offered to volunteer as a photographer in the 7th Bexar Fest, I couldn’t be more excited! This time, from behind the lens, I witnessed these young filmmakers' creativity, passion, and dedication as they premiere their skillfully crafted stories that shed light on the impactful work carried out by non-profits within our community. Through my photographs, I strived to convey the power of the youth's potential to make a meaningful difference, and I am honored to have been apart of capturing the experience.
